What is Zinc Oxide?

A Versatile & Essential Inorganic Compound

Zinc Oxide (ZnO) is a fine white inorganic compound widely used as an active ingredient, a functional additive, and a performance enhancer across pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, rubber, ceramics, coatings, food, feed, and specialty chemical industries.

Its value lies in its chemical stability, UV resistance, antimicrobial behavior, and catalytic properties.

Indirect Process (French Process)

The French Process is a thermal oxidation method that produces Zinc Oxide from high-purity metallic zinc. This process is internationally recognized as the benchmark technology for regulated and high-performance applications.

Production Process

French Process – Step by Step

Our controlled thermal process ensures the highest quality Zinc Oxide for demanding applications.

High-Purity Metallic Zinc

Very pure metallic zinc (SHG or equivalent) is used as the raw material. The purity of zinc at this stage directly defines the purity of the final Zinc Oxide.

Zinc Vaporization

The metallic zinc is heated in special high-temperature reactors above its boiling point. Zinc melts and vaporizes into zinc vapor (Zn gas). Full control is maintained.

Controlled Oxidation

The zinc vapor is exposed to controlled oxygen or air. Chemical reaction: Zn (vapor) + O₂ → ZnO. This forms extremely fine Zinc Oxide particles with uniform size.

Cooling & Collection

The Zinc Oxide fumes are rapidly cooled and collected through filtration and baghouse systems. This ensures high whiteness and minimal contamination.

Quality Control

Each batch undergoes chemical analysis, heavy metal testing, and physical property checks. Only approved batches proceed to packaging.
